On July 15, 2026 at 12:01 AM PDT, we will flip spantail/spantail to public on GitHub. Until then the repository is private, and this site is the only place Spantail exists in the open.
What lands that day is the whole core, MIT-licensed: time tracking for people, automatic capture of AI agent sessions, one unified timeline, and reports rendered from Markdown and Liquid templates. The CLI, the built-in MCP server, the Claude Plugin and the GitHub App ship with it. Nothing in the core is a teaser for a paid tier.
Spantail is self-hosted. You deploy it to your own Cloudflare account — one Worker, one D1 database — and your work log stays on infrastructure you control. One deployment serves one company; it is not a multi-tenant service.
We have been using it ourselves for a while. It records our own week, and it is the log we read at the daily standup. Publishing it is not a change of direction — it is the same tool, with the door open.
If you want to see it the moment it is there, star the repository. We will post here when it is live.
